Los Angeles-based film and media composer Jorden Davis brings a focus on narrative storytelling and collaboration to all his scores.  His score for Scripted, the most recent project with frequent collaborator John Knight, contributed to the film being a semifinalist in the Student Academy Awards.  Also notable among his scoring work is the indie feature film Rubaru, which warranted a 50-minute score recorded with a live string orchestra; the award-winning film has subsequently been distributed by Green Apple Entertainment.

He has experience across various facets of the industry, including scoring short films (Scripted, Die Vormacht, Better Off), the aforementioned feature film Rubaru, VR/Interactive media (Avion), and arranging for other established composers (Season one of Spidey & His Amazing Friends under Patrick Stump).

In addition to media scoring, Davis has written concert works for various ensembles including solo piano (Aurora Ascending), brass quintet (In Pursuit of Light and Space), choir (Are Brothers There) and full orchestra (Alaska Suite for Orchestra) throughout his music studies at Biola University.  All of these pieces are connected by a deep appreciation of the natural world and the desire to express the awe and wonder found in its expansiveness.

Originally from Southeast Alaska, but recently relocated to Los Angeles, he continues to do freelance work in the LA area.

Davis is a member of ASCAP and the SCL.

“I think storytelling is one of the most important ways that we as humans relate to one another. It’s the foundation of meaningful communication; through storytelling, we can relate feelings and experiences to others in a unique way.”
