THE SCREEN WHISPERER
(Short Film, shot on 16mm.)
The Screen Whisperer is about a screenwriter who must contend with an invasive “assistant” assigned by his boss to look over his shoulder and critique his work as he writes – a backseat writer, as it were. Shot on 16mm.
It is a 13 minute short film with a score that replaced a temp track of entirely classical music. Because of this, the score is often emulating classical writing more than traditional film scoring.

“On “The Screen Whisperer,” Jorden captured the drama (and melodrama) of a writer’s collaborative struggle, with memorable, orchestral-based themes that draw out the varying emotions of creative conflict, balancing classical allusion with fresh vision. Mr. Davis himself is an excellent collaborator, and I greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with him. ”
